Whether it’s an early start or a late-night task, coffee is the fuel that keeps the working world going. As the providers of the strong workwear that powers through every shift, we were buzzing to once again host Coffee Magazine’s TAMP THAT – the competition where top baristas go toe to toe (or tamp to tamp*).

The fifth edition of TAMP THAT turned our Alberton store into a high-energy arena on Saturday, 15 March, where top local baristas showcased their skills in fast-paced coffee challenges. The competition was intense, with standout performances from Team Emtwini (Starbucks), who placed second, and Team SCC South Gurus (Seattle Coffee), the defending champions who finished third. But after a battle of precision and skill, it was Team Flatwhite Cortado who brewed their way to victory. Led by Johnson Sehoro, founder of Sonwaro Coffee Co., and supported by Izzy, our Alberton store’s expert barista, the team delivered a winning performance. 

As always, we’re proud to celebrate the art of great coffee. Thank you to everyone who made this edition of TAMP THAT happen: Coffee Magazine, Jonsson Workwear’s Alberton all-stars, and those who joined us to cheer from the sidelines.
