It’s estimated that chimpanzees could disappear from the wild within the next 10 to 20 years. These endangered apes that once spanned the jungles of nine African countries have disappeared from four, due to commercial hunting, disease, deforestation and the bushmeat trade.

Sanctuaries like Chimp Eden bring hope to their dwindling numbers.

Chimp Eden is situated within the Umhloti Nature Reserve just outside of Nelspruit in Mpumalanga, and is the first and only chimpanzee sanctuary in South Africa. It was founded in 2006 by Dr Jane Goodall, the world's foremost expert on chimpanzees and UN Messenger of Peace. Chimp Eden not only gives rescued chimpanzees a safe and stimulating space to live, but through education and eco-tourism, gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about these great apes.

We are proud to be the workwear sponsor for Chimp Eden, outfitting its staff and volunteers head-to-toe in Jonsson Workwear.
